ATHLETIC FACILITIES MASTER PLAN

Following the 2012-13 season, historic success presented Ragin’ Cajuns Athletics with unprecedented opportunity. In conjunction with 360 Architecture, a three-tiered Athletic Facilities Master Plan that would plot out progress for much-needed facility upgrades was developed. Today, Tier 1 is complete, and Tier 2 is officially underway. From updated locker rooms and additional seating, to the largest Student-Athlete Performance Center in the Sun Belt Conference, our athletics infrastructure is stronger than ever before!

TIER 1

Tier 1 projects include improvements with the highest level of urgency.
All three Tier 1 projects have been completed.

CAJUN FIELD IMPROVEMENTS

Cajun Field Rennovations

Improvements include 5,642 new end zone seats, upgraded concessions and restrooms.

SOCCER/TRACK OFFICES & LOCKER ROOMS

New Track Building

STUDENT-ATHLETE PERFORMANCE CENTER

At 100,000 square feet, it’s the largest of its kind in the Sun Belt Conference, boasting a 12,000-square-foot weight room, second-level cardio deck, training room that includes a hydro-therapy area, 150-seat auditorium, players’ lounge, football locker room and more!

TIER 2

Tier 2 projects include only three facilities, but they are the most extensive and require the greatest investment. These projects will transform our athletics program, elevating us to the top tier of facilities nationwide. It will be the most monumental improvement to Ragin’ Cajuns Athletics since the current complex was built in 1971.

RAGIN’ CAJUNS GOLF

New Golf Facility

State-of-the-art teaching facility, including hitting bays, coaches’ offices, locker room, lobby and meeting and gallery area.

CAJUN FIELD RENOVATIONS

TIER 3

Tier 3 projects include a series of “stand-alone” construction and renovation projects that are in the planning stages and will begin as funds become available.

• Sports plaza on the current site of the Cox Athletics Center
• Renovations to the on-campus Academic Center
• Enhancements to Earl K. Long Gym
• Improvements to the Culotta Tennis Center
• Construction of a basketball practice facility
