Mission

To provide an equitable and transparent priority ranking of how individuals are allocated tickets, seating, parking, tailgating and other benefits. Determinations will be based on loyalty and financial support to the Ragin’ Cajuns Athletic Foundation, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and its Department of Athletics.

The Basics

  • Must be an active RCAF Annual Fund member to have a point total
  • Purpose is to develop a system that is fair and transparent in ranking supporters to Athletics
  • Goal is to properly reward loyalty and support over time, not only current contributions
  • Point calculations will be based on longevity as a donor and as a season ticket holder – as well as total financial contribution to both Athletics and the University and the overall amount of tickets purchased
  • Points have no tangible value. They are simply a number to allow RCAF/Athletics to rank individuals for the purpose of ticket location/quantity and benefits

 

  • Points will be calculated 3 times throughout the year (season ticket assignment for Football, M&W Basketball, Baseball/Softball) and as needed for postseason
  • Longevity will be calculated as far back as reliable data exists within University database(s)
  • Rules/Policies/Exceptions will be defined using legal counsel, in conjunction with the RCAF Board of Directors
  • View your Point total at any time through your “My Account Login” portal located on the RCAF website (Coming Summer 2016)
  • Policy is subject to change at the discretion of the RCAF Board of Directors

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The Ragin’ Cajuns Athletic Foundation is the official fundraising organization for Ragin’ Cajuns Athletics. The money that is raised annually helps to maintain a competitive program through facility improvements, retaining of coaches and scholarship support for roughly 370 student-athletes across 16 sports.

If possible, season ticket holders will be given the opportunity to keep their current seat location by meeting a minimum requirement RCAF Annual Fund donation and Excellence Fund seat donation. In instances where venue renovations have eliminated the current seat location, or if donor fails to meet the above mentioned criteria, then the RCAF Priority Points system will be applied to determine seat location.

The Priority Point system is an equal combination of rewarding loyalty and financial contributions to the University. Points earned reflect the accuracy of the data in our University database, which goes back as far as the 1980’s. Ticket data will differ by sport, which in most cases dates back to the early 2000’s.

To provide an equitable and transparent way to reward loyalty and financial support to the donor/ticket holder. It will prioritize your rank, against all other RCAF donors and season ticket holders, and you will clearly know where you stand in terms of relocation of season tickets in home venues, priority for post season tickets, parking and tailgating location, etc.

The first line in the mission statement of the RCAF Priority Points System is: “To provide an equitable and transparent priority ranking of how individuals are allocated tickets, seating, parking, tailgating and other benefits.” This will be the criteria used in determining the “order” in which benefits are granted and prioritized, which is the most fair and transparent way that this can be accomplished.

No. Unless we receive, in writing, a breakdown of gifts, currently credited to the other person’s account, from the other person, detailing the amount of donation that should be credited from their account to your account. Once that is received, we will credit your account and rebalance those donation credits from the other person’s account. Please note that this is for Priority Point credit only. We cannot give you the donation credit for IRS purposes as they will only grant deductibility to the person who writes the check/makes the donation.

Current season ticket holders will be given the opportunity to keep their current seat location by meeting the RCAF minimum requirements for Annual Fund donation, as well as Excellence Fund seat donation. If this criteria is not met, or if season ticket holders simply wish to move their seat location, a priority deadline (date) for each sport will be set. On that date, we will calculate Priority Point totals for each account that placed a ticket order. Seat selection will take place based on the Priority Points ranking and will provide the account holder with the opportunity to browse all available inventory in the stadium/arena to make his/her seat selection. Once the minimum requirements are met for their seat location the seats will be assigned. After the inaugural year of reseating within each venue, new season ticket orders will be selected/assigned based on their RCAF Priority Points total.

In the case of a divorce, RCAF Priority Points will be split evenly between the two parties. However, if written documentation is provided to the RCAF office, signed by both parties, indicating another arrangement, we will honor the signed document and the Priority Points will be reassigned based on the mutually arranged agreement.

For a company where there is only one sole-owner, yes, you will be able to keep your accumulated Priority Points. For a company where you are an “employee” of the company, serving in a President or CEO capacity, no, the company would maintain the accumulated Priority Points. Please contact the RCAF Office for questions that differ from the above examples.

This can be done by contacting the RCAF Office via phone at 337-851-2904 or via email at RCAF@louisiana.edu. For each sport a Priority deadline (date) will be set. This is the cut-off date for accumulation of all donations, ticket purchases, etc. for Priority Point calculation. At that time, seat location requests will be prioritized by the Priority Points totals. Individual accounts will be notified by the RCAF office if your request was granted, and if not, where you stood on the “list” based on your Priority Points total.

Yes. You must remain an active donor at the RCAF Annual Fund minimum donation level (currently $100) or your Point total will reset to 0 (Zero) Points. “Active donor” is defined as a minimum gift amount (currently $100) within the calendar year. After becoming lapsed, you may recover a portion of your Priority Points for the following year by making your RCAF Annual Fund donation at the minimum membership level (currently $100). Please refer to the Priority Points chart for a breakdown of how Points are calculated.

Some seats in each venue will require an RCAF Annual Fund donation while others will not. An annual contribution to RCAF is not required to be eligible to purchase season tickets or even maintain season tickets. However, in order to have a Priority Points balance greater than 0 (Zero) you will need to be an active RCAF Annual Fund donor (current minimum level is $100). Priority will be given to those who are active RCAF Annual Fund donors as their Point total will reflect a positive balance.

Yes. Donations to all areas of the University will count in your RCAF Priority Points accumulation. Points will be weighted by area (Example – RCAF Annual Fund donations, Excellence Fund donations, etc., will be weighted at one level, athletic department/sport specific restricted gifts at another level and University donations at yet another level).

Yes. If you are eligible for a corporate/company/foundation match, and fill out the proper paperwork required by your corporation/company/foundation, we will link the matching gift to your account for Priority Points credit once the gift is received.

Yes. RCAF Priority Point credit will be awarded for documented In-kind gifts. This is defined as goods or services that offset an expense otherwise absorbed by the Athletic Department or RCAF. Value will be placed on the in-kind donation at the fair market value of the goods or services, which will be set by the RCAF.

Everyone will be able to log-on to their “My Account Manager” profile and be able to view their RCAF Priority Points total, as of the most recent time Priority Points were calculated. This calculation will take place 3 times per year, or as needed based on inclusion into post season play.

You will also be able to view your rank by logging-on to “My Account Manager” and viewing your profile. Within your account you will see a ranking of all RCAF account holders along with a range/scale of total Points and where that total ranks you overall.

Yes. If you do not maintain an active membership in the RCAF Annual Fund your Priority Point total will reset back to 0 (Zero). You will be able to recapture all of your Accumulative Points for the following year, other than consecutive years Points, by rejoining the RCAF Annual Fund.

No. RCAF Priority Points have no tangible value. They are not property that can be sold, traded or given. It is simply a Point total to be used as a guide for RCAF and Ragin’ Cajuns Athletics to rank donors in Priority order for the purposes of seating and certain benefit allocation. In the case of death, Points will automatically remain with the surviving spouse, if applicable, and will not be allowed to be transferred in any other manner from that point.
